Why Independent Photometric Testing?
Independent photometric testing provides an unbiased evaluation of your luminaire's photometric performance. These results can be useful for product development, quality assurance, marketing literature, and confirmation of product performance.

Further, the lighting manufacturers are under pressure to demonstrate that their products meet performance expectations and operate according to manufacturer claims, for example the data of lumen output, color and distribution angle. It needs third party lab to provide the approved information according the clients request.

Do I Need to Send Lamps or Ballasts With My Test?
LTL keeps an extensive inventory of pre-aged lamps to be used during testing. If your luminaire requires a rare or prototype lamp, please call to see if we stock the lamp. In the event LTL does not currently have the lamp you require for testing, we will season the lamp(s) required for testing in accordance with IESNA LM-54-91 free of charge. LTL also maintains an extensive inventory of HID ballasts for use in testing. For most HID luminaires it is not necessary to include the ballast. Fluorescent ballasts should always be included when sending fluorescent fixtures for testing. As always, if you have any questions please contact us, we are always happy to help.
