Luminaire Testing Laboratory, Inc. (LTL) is a UL (Underwriters Laboratories) company. It is an independent photometric testing services provider for the lighting industry. In addition to producing Roadway, Floodlight, and indoor Photometric Test Reports, LTL also performs ballast characteristic testing, electrical system testing, mining vehicle luminaire testing, and absolute photometric testing. LTL uses computer controlled, Type C, swinging mirror goniophotometers to test luminaires. Test reports conform to Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) standards. As part of the UL group, our objective is to use our knowledge and experience to help you market your product faster.

LTLis pleased to announce the July 19, 2012 opening of its new performance lighting test lab located in Allentown, PA. The lab is IAS accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 and is an EPA Recognized Testing Laboratory for ENERGY STAR. The lab conducts testing of lighting products to various global energy efficiency programs such as DesignLights Consortium, Lighting Facts, Zhaga, California Energy Commission, CAP (MSHA) and National Resources Canada. UL is recognized as one of the first Zhaga-approved testing laboratories and offers testing to various IES standards such as LM-79.

 

The new 38,000 square foot facility will be one of UL's state-of-the-art Photometric Testing and Technology Centers and will position UL to more effectively meet the demand for more comprehensive Energy Efficiency testing and certification to new developing global requirements. Supporting growth and innovation in the global LED market, the new Allentown Lab follows the launches of the UL Manesar India Energy Efficiency Lab last December and the UL Burago Italy Lighting Lab in May. These labs join our Nansha, China and UL Scottsdale performance lighting labs.

 

Services will include testing laboratories, technical consultation services, educational and training programs and our independent third-party certification body activities.The LTL facility provides testing in many facets of the lighting industry including: Residential, Commercial, Outdoor Street and Area Lighting, Transportation, Mining and Components.
